Trogen2 is a redesigned/improved version of Ikea's classic child's step stool.

During this project, I explored some of the improvement opportunities to how the handles are positioned on the product which naturally affects how the stool is held, moved around, and used.

In the classic version, as shown in the last photos taken from IKEA's website, the toddler needs to be on the flat side of the product to be able to hold and move it to where it's needed. That in some cases might result in a little gap between the stool while in use which can be dangerous. And in all cases makes holding and moving the stool in the right direction almost impossible. This project was aiming to resolve this issue with a truly minor tweak to an otherwise great product.

As a designer/new father, I'm continuously looking at products (and services) around me with a new fresh eye reimagining possible safer, easier-to-use, and ergonomic iterations.
